Day 17 - San Francisco to Half Moon Bay

Left the dock at 6:30. Patchy fog, very light wind. Went under the Golden Gate just before 7. Really foggy at the bridge and the fog horns sounding at the bridge made it seem like some big ass ship was coming down on us. Had my heart rate up! I was scampering around looking out of every window to make sure no boat was going to run us down. Fog lifted and now we have much better visibility. Ocean was calm all the way and the fog came back. Less than 1/2 mile visibility when we were looking for the marker buoys into Pillar Point. Anchored in about 10 feet of water at 9:45. A lot of sailboats are an he'd here. Nice and calm and quiet. Much better than being at the dock in San Francisco with all the rocking and rolling and the sea lions barking!

View of Pillar Point Harbor after we anchored.

Sun is coming out.

Nice and sunny at 1. Fog is trying to hang on. I LOVE that its so calm and quiet!

Kayakers had to come out and see what the big white boat was all about.

The harbor is surrounded by a riprap jetty. See the small opening?

Where did the opening go? We can still see the fish pen.

Where did the fish pen go?

Obviously, a much earlier view! :-)
